As in many other countries , the financial situation in my country was not very suitable my family and I to live in, and as many other people do, my family and I also decided to move. In addition to this, my country unfortunately has a high rate of violence and this is another reason why my family and I decided to move. Also, the way government was being run contributed to our decision. As previously stated, those reasons were some of the causes that in my case prompted me to leave Dominican Republic; it was not because I did not like it, but because I was in search of a better life. Honestly, it was no ingratitude but a matter of survival.

However, to tell you the truth, I was more excited rather than being in a panic. Nevertheless, I could not bear the fact that I will no longer be able to stroll along the beach minutes away from my house or watch my favorite cricket players dominate the teams of other countries. After spending nine years in Pakistan, I moved to an environment that was totally different from the one I came from. I knew that this would be my biggest hurdle I would have to overcome. As a new 4th grader in a place where Pakistanis were rare, I felt as if I was invisible in the classroom.
